Mark Darling BSc (Hons), MCOptom, Dip Tp(AS), DipTp(IP), Prof Cert Glauc

 

Mark qualified as an optometrist with the College of Optometrists in 1996.  He obtained his degree in Ophthalmic Optics and Visual Science from the University of Wales in Cardiff in 1995.  He also received an additional qualification from College of Optometrists (the Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics) in 2003 through further training at City University in London and Moorfields Eye Hospital.  He then undertook further training at City University in 2018 and the Royal Derby Hospital in 2019 to gain the independent prescribing qualification in 2020.  In January 2023 he completed the Professional Certificate in Glaucoma with Cardiff University.

 

He has a particular interest in diagnosing and treating minor eye conditions such as red eye, conjunctivitis, blepharitis and dry eyes.  He also enjoys many other aspects of optometry such as children’s eye care (including myopia management), caring for those eyes of more advanced years, glaucoma assessments, diabetic eye disease and contact lenses.

 

Mark has worked in many different practices over the previous twenty-five years and has brought all of this experience to Darling Eyecare.  He enjoys approaching each patient as an individual and takes the care of his patients very seriously.
